Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) Technology Day
2017 / 11 / 14
Asahi Kasei exhibited at the “Mahindra Technology Day” that was held in India, Mahindra Research Valley (MRV) in Chennai on November 14 (Tuesday). The MRV was set up in 2012 as Mahindra’s Group commitment towards technology-driven innovation. The R&D centre serves as an innovation hub of engineering research and product development for automotive and tractors.
In order to meet the commitment to UN and moving towards a cleaner environment, India Government decided to Leapfrog BS V to BS VI in 2020 and work towards an all-electric-vehicle (EV) dream by 2030. With the initiative of India Government, major OEMs like M&M is moving into exploring metal replacement and EV developments to reduce vehicle overall weight as well as CO2 emission reduction.
APS has been targeting specific applications in the automotive industry particularly in metal replacement and EV battery. Therefore, APS decided to participate in this exhibition in order to raise the profile of Asahi Kasei performance plastics, gather the latest development information and expand the sales of performance plastics for automotive and EV battery applications.
The exhibition was organized by Asahi Kasei India (AKI) and participated by many Asahi Kasei stakeholders such as APS and Automotive Marketing Division (AMD). The exhibition consisted of Asahi Kasei’s micro devices, fabricated products, commodity and engineering plastics and Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) capability. AMD shared with Mahindra’s team on Asahi Kasei’s concept car “AKXY” – 4 wheeler vehicle made with only Asahi Kasei’s material.
During the 1 day show, various projects PIC came to exchange information and discussed on possible new developments. For APS booth, we have received many interests on APS engineering plastics and technical know-how.
